Traditional Honey Pignolata, very similar to Neapolitan ‘Struffoli’, from which it differs, is a typical dessert of different areas of southern Italy, especially Calabria and Sicily, another typical dessert is the ‘Black and White icing Pignolata’.
In the tradition, it takes the name of Pignolata Calabrese and in some areas ‘Turdilluzzi’. Usually it is eaten during the Carnival period and in some cases during Christmas.
